SELECTING A THERAPIST Finding the right therapist is a very important step. Consider the first appointment as an opportunity to see whether you feel comfortable with them. If you can, visit more than one therapist and choose the one you are most relaxed with.
Make sure: · they have a qualification (or are in the latter stages of training on an advanced course, such as a diploma or master’s degree) · they are experienced · they make use of supervision · they abide by a code of ethics · their fees are affordable for you (you may need to attend for some months)
To start looking for a therapist near you, you can search online directories, or check your telephone directory. |
